You have twelve weeks from the date you purchased the course in which to complete it. Each video module is between 15 and 40 minutes long. You’ll probably need to pause the video to complete some exercises and build your own model along the way. When you have finished each video module, you will need to complete the review questions which can also be accessed from the menu page.
The course usually takes around six hours to complete, depending on how long you take to build your model. Whilst this the course does not need to be done consecutively, it is recommended that in order to get the maximum benefit from this course that you do not leave too long between sessions.
During the course you will build your own financial model. Make sure you save your model as you go. Please use the ‘Upload your model’ link in the course menu to upload this directly to the Plum Solutions website (you will also do a preliminary exercise which you do not need to send in). Simply enter your name, then go to the ‘Model Upload’ section. Click on ‘Browse’ and find the file on your computer, then click on ‘Upload’. When you are happy with your model, click the ‘Save’ button.
To review your uploaded model, click on the ‘View your uploaded models’ link. You can also update your model by clicking on the name of your uploaded model (i.e. your name). On the next screen you will see an ‘edit’ tab. Click on this, and then click on ‘Remove’ under the ‘Model File’ section. You are now free to upload an updated model and click the ‘Save’ button.
You must get at least 75% of the review questions correct in order to pass the course. The questions are automatically marked at the end of each review module. When you have completed the review questions and uploaded your model you will receive your certificate of completion plus the details of your four weeks continuing support from the Financial Modelling Support Centre.
